Day 5 · Porto
Continue to Porto and descend to the Douro
Travel from Coimbra-B to Porto Campanhã in the morning and connect to your central hotel. Begin at São Bento’s tiled hall, continue to Porto Cathedral, and follow the lanes downhill to Ribeira. Cross the upper deck of the Luís I Bridge for sunset at Jardim do Morro.
The day intentionally moves downhill. Use the Metro or a taxi back from Gaia if the group does not want another steep climb.
Day 6 · Porto
Historic Porto and one port lodge in Gaia
Start with breakfast at Mercado do Bolhão, then walk toward Clérigos and Livraria Lello. Continue downhill for a guided Palácio da Bolsa visit and cross to Gaia for one port lodge tour. One tasting is enough; leave the evening open for the riverfront.
Livraria Lello, Clérigos, the palace, and cellar tours can all require times. Pick two priority reservations and let the others fit around them.
Day 7 · Porto
A quiet Porto morning before departure
Use the final morning for the Palácio de Cristal gardens and their Douro viewpoints, or simply return to a favorite café. Collect luggage and take Metro Line E or a taxi to Porto Airport with a buffer for service changes and security.
