Day 3 · Glencoe
Drive from Edinburgh to Glencoe
Collect the car after breakfast, stop at Stirling Castle, and continue west through the Highlands. Use only signed Glencoe lay-bys and choose one short walk based on rain, wind, and daylight. Stay in Glencoe or Ballachulish.

Day 4 · Isle of Skye

Day 6 · Inverness
Skye to Inverness via Loch Ness
Leave Skye after breakfast, pause at Eilean Donan only if it was skipped, and continue along the lochs. Reserve Urquhart Castle or choose a simple Loch Ness viewpoint, then finish with a river walk in Inverness.

Day 7 · Departure day
Culloden or a quiet Inverness morning
Visit Culloden only when the flight schedule leaves enough time for the interpretation center and battlefield. Otherwise, walk the River Ness, refuel the car, and return it at Inverness Airport without rushing.
For an Edinburgh round-trip, add a night and return through the Cairngorms instead of attaching a four-hour drive to departure day.
