Fly north to Chiang Mai

Day 9 · Ao Nang
Keep one Krabi day flexible

Transfer to Krabi Airport with margin. If the international trip uses a separate Bangkok ticket, protect a much longer connection or spend the final night near the international departure airport.

For rainforest time
Add two or three nights for Khao Sok between the north and Krabi rather than forcing it into the flexible beach day.

Is ten days enough for Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi?
Yes. Three nights in each base creates two usable full days per region. Adding another island or northern base would turn too much of the trip into transfers.
Should I fly or take the train to Chiang Mai?
Flying saves time; the overnight train can be an experience if you reserve a comfortable berth and keep the arrival morning light. Either option fits, but do not add a full sightseeing schedule immediately after the sleeper.
Is Ao Nang or Railay a better base?
Ao Nang offers simpler road transfers, more services, and flexible boat departures. Railay is more atmospheric but boat-dependent. This template uses Ao Nang and treats Railay as a full outing.
